1976
CAL.ME* S.p.A., a Speziali Group company, is founded.
The plants begin operation with the production of lime in lumps, extra-ventilated hydrated lime, lime putty and ready-to-use plaster.

1981
Constant research by the CALME laboratories, in collaboration with the Calabria University Engineering Department Material Technology Institute, leads to the development of desulphurization blends for use in the iron and steel industry, as well as the production of dolomitic lime (with a high magnesium content) used successfully for the production of steel products, by the biggest national and international industries.

1989
In order to cater for market demands, CALME sets up the first cement production mill at the Marcellinara plant which, thanks to the constant research of its cutting edge laboratories, allows CALME to propose the entire cement and lime production range demanded by the market.

1995
The Cementeria Pisana is incorporated into the company, promoting CALME’s development on the central/northern Italian market.

1997
CALME increases its presence throughout the country, with the creation of a modern grinding plant in Taranto, a strategic position thanks to its vicinity to the port, created in order to facilitate product exports.

Today
CALME is one of Italy’s top cement and lime production companies thanks to its production quality and quantity.
